WHAT TO BRING

For your first session, we will provide you with the garments to wear underneath the EMS suit. If you decide to purchase your own garments afterwards, you will need to bring these with you for each session.

The workout itself can be done in socks or in your regular gym shoes, it is completely up to you. There is no jumping or running, so it really comes down to what you are most comfortable wearing.

We have change room and shower facilities. We also have towels that you are welcome to use.

If you are a parent, your kiddos are more than welcome to come along.

We also have water and a post workout protein shake for you.

WHAT TO EAT AND DRINK

It is important to ensure that you are well hydrated before your first EMS session. We recommend that you drink at least 1/2 a litre of water a good 30/40 minutes before your booking.

Staying hydrated aids in muscle recovery.

EMS workouts are conducted in a HIIT (high intensity interval training) style. For this reason, it is recommended to have a carb rich meal a few hours before you come in. Some examples of this are pasta or rice based dishes.

Post workout, protein is very important as it helps with muscle recovery. We offer a complimentary protein shake after each EMS session.

Foods that are rich in potassium and magnesium such as banana, spinach and sweet potato can also help your muscles with recovery.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We’ll sit down with you and have a chat about EMS and your health goals. Once we’ve gone through your consultation, one of our PTs will fit you with your EMS suit and vest and we’ll get started with your EMS session.

We’ll take you through each muscle group one by one and get you to a level you are comfortable with.

We will guide you through a 20 minute workout.

After the session, you can shower or get changed in one of our change rooms and we’ll offer you a delicious protein shake.

Each EMS session after this will take about 30 minutes (10 minutes to chat and get changed, and 20 minutes of working out).

EMS workouts are short but effective. They are perfect for before/after work, lunch breaks or squeezing in time for yourself during busy days.

As one EMS workout is the equivalent of up to 3 hours traditional gym training, you will likely feel some muscle fatigue for a few days. It is important that you keep moving and stretching as well fuelling your body with nutritious food and drinking lots of water.
